Stimulant medications

Short- and long-acting options
Controlled substance with federal and state prescribing rules
Requires regular follow-up visits
Non-stimulant medications
An option when stimulants aren’t a good fit because of side effects, other health conditions, or personal preference. They take a few weeks to reach full effect.
Not a controlled substance
Steady effect throughout the day
Can be combined with other treatments
Medication decisions are made by your provider after evaluation. We don’t prescribe a specific medication on request.
