  • Methadone: A long-acting opioid agonist used to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Administered in a controlled, supervised setting.

  • Buprenorphine: A partial opioid agonist that helps manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms, often combined with naloxone (as in Suboxone) to prevent misuse.

  • Naltrexone: An opioid antagonist that blocks the effects of opioids and helps prevent relapse. Available as a daily oral tablet or a monthly injection (Vivitrol).

  • Other Medications: Depending on the individual’s needs, other supportive medications may be used to address co-occurring conditions or support overall health.
